CO2oling the earth
Dear all, after the success of the past editions of Summer School CO2oling the earth, the CO2oling the Earth network is proud to announce the third edition of the CO2oling the Earth School!
This PhD school focuses on all aspects of Sustainable Industry, with a focus on Carbon dioxide Capture and Utilization (CCU) and on Electrochemistry.
Aim of the PhD school: Is it possible to scale up the system I studied during my PhD?, What are the criticalities to scale up a research project from the lab bench to prototyping and to the further possible industrialization? The aim is to give a perspective on how a process is defined as sustainable and scalable, and give to the participants the tools to assess the scalability and feasibility of their project on a larger scale. The PhD school will last one day and will consist of a session with presentations from industrial partners, mainly from EU H2020 projects on CCU, followed by a workshop in which PhD students will have the chance to present their research and receive feedback and suggestions from an industrial panel on the upscalability of their work.
Presentation session (Morning, 8 presentations by industrial experts, each of 25 min + 5 min Q&A).
The presentations will cover different aspects and challenges related to increasing the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) and achieving scaling up industrially-relevant systems in the context of Carbon dioxide Capture and Utilization (CCU) and Electrochemistry.
PhD Workshop (Afternoon, 6 presentations by PhD students, each of 15 min followed by 10 min feedback session with the industrial panel).
The PhD students will present in concise talks the target and main achievements of their PhD project. This will be followed by a discussion with the industrial panel, in which the PhDs will be asked questions about important aspects for the upscalability of their research but also receive feedback and suggestions about the ways in which the results could be brought to a higher Technology Readiness Level.
