The Center for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH) is a leading research organization and center of excellence in Greece, currently listed among the Top-20 EU Research Organizations. It is a non-profit legal entity supervised by the General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GSRT) of the Greek Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs. CERTH currently occupies more than 600 people (mainly scientists) and has participated in more than 1.000 competitive research projects, with total budget >423 M€. Four spin off companies have been launched through CERTH research activities.

The Chemical Process and Energy Resources Institute (CPERI) has the mission to conduct high caliber basic and applied research, to develop novel technologies and products and to pursue scientific and technological excellence in selected advanced areas of Chemical Engineering, including Energy, Environment, Materials and Process Technologies, in response to the needs of the Greek and European industrial and productive sector.
