Fraunhofer is Europe’s largest application-oriented research organization. The Fraunhofer Institute of Ceramic Techniques and Systems (IKTS), Hermsdorf branch is staffed with 130 specialists and performs applied research in the field of technical ceramics.
The research field of Environmental and Process Engineering with the department Nanoporous Membranes is one of the biggest European research groups in the field of ceramic membranes. The research includes support, intermediate and separating top layers development as well as process investigation, optimisation and modelling.
