NTNU
With 9 Faculties, 40,200 registered students, 7,100 teaching and research staff, 3 campuses and offices in Brussels and Japan, NTNU is the largest university in Norway today. NTNU’s social mission is to create knowledge for a better world and deliver solutions that can change and improve everyday life. NTNU has a main profile in science and technology, a variety of programmes of professional study, and great academic breadth that also includes the humanities, social sciences, economics, medicine, health sciences, educational science, architecture, entrepreneurship, art disciplines and artistic activities. NTNU is the host of 6 Norwegian Centers of Excellence (SFF), 7 Centers for Research-based Innovation (SFI), 3 Centers for Environment-friendly Energy Research (FME) and has a formal close-collaboration with SINTEF and CERN. The NTNU partner will be tasked with synthesizing active materials for CO2 capture based on graphene. The work package will be implemented in the Advanced Optoelectronic Nanomaterials research unit which is fully equipped for organic synthesis and characterization of organic semiconducting materials. Additionally, the researcher will have access to NTNU Nanolab. The infrastructure is run by a staff of 9 engineers and operated according to hands-on principles. NTNU NanoLab has 700 m2 cleanroom facilities with cleanliness ranging from ISO7 to ISO5 and vibration reduced zones at VCF-level. The cleanroom is also built according to GMO laboratory class 2 requirements. Concerning the MemCCSea project the NTNU NanoLab along with the Norwegian Centre for Transmission Electron Microscopy (NORTEM). NorTEM provides access to microscopy characterization infrastructure such as AFM, SEM and TEM which are crucial for assessing the nanomorphology of the synthesized materials and their subsequent link to performance.
